Day Two / 15th September
This session will be run by Jill Pendleton and Emma Stafford
Helping people live at home - the role that occupational therapists have to play
Based around the personal experiences of people with dementia and carers, the focus of this session will be on how an Occupational Therapist can support people with dementia and carers to plan and adapt their home environment to meet their changing needs. Planning ahead, assessing the needs of each individual and understanding the challenges that their home presents are important aspects of enabling people to remain at home. This interactive session will involve participants in developing awareness of the issues faced by people living with dementia and carers in staying at home, environmental challenges and developing strategies for overcoming common problems.
