New online training on dementia and planning launched
The RTPI has launched a new online learning tool to help town planners understand their role in creating better environments for people living with dementia. It follows the publication of the Institute’s first “Dementia and Town Planning” practice note earlier in the year endorsed by Alzheimer’s Society.
Dementia Friendly Housing Charter
People with dementia face a range of challenges. These may include memory loss or difficulty communicating, mobility and navigation issues and other associated problems. Across every part of the housing sector, organisations can make a valuable contribution to supporting people with dementia facing these challenges.

Aim of Design for Dementia
As most people experiencing dementia wish to remain at home, the design and construction of new dwellings or home conversions are paramount. To address issues arising from the pressures associated with dementia, design solutions need to be integrated within our architecture, environment and the landscape.
